Danas Aleksa “75 Kilograms and the Radius”

On June 4, at 6 pm, Danas Aleksa’s solo exhibition “75 Kilograms and the Radius” will open at the gallery “Si:said” (Daržų 18, Klaipėda).

The author invites visitors to take a ride on a shuttle van through the city streets. The body absorbs the unevenness of the streets, and on turns, one can the centrifugal force, which is calculated by multiplying the weight of the body by the square of the speed of the bus and dividing the result by the radius of the turn. At some point, one‘s consciousness escapes from the body and runs down the walls of houses, the silhouettes of people, the banners of advertisements, getting caught in the branches of trees, and rushing by the underpasses. One‘s wakefulness returns after a few minutes. We realise that we belong to the city. Fragments of maps, street lines, minutes of timetables, intersections, stopping over, and delays all form up the space of circumstances to which the exhibition route takes us.
